We can all be honest though and agree that it just looks like I've started slouching or have recently eaten too much Chipotle.
Please ignore the crazy stray bang hair.
Baby Size: A poppyseed all the way up to a naval orange.
Baby Growth: Fortunately BB is looking less and less like an alien as her/his head becomes more proportionate with their body. Unfortunately for us, down the road, Baby Bear is peeing and developing vocal cords now. Its all cute and sweet now but at 2am its gonna lose the cute factor REAL FAST. All the organs are there and functioning now as they grow and fine tune. BB can sense light and move away from it. I can't feel it yet but BB is swimming and kicking in there to their heart's content.
Weight Gained: +4lbs. This weight gain is still in my usual fluctuating range and could be due to the lack of exercise but we're gonna say its the baby!
Symptoms: Here is the gist-
- I've woken up with lower back pain that literally felt like the top of my pelvis was being stretched apart. How fun.
- My fingernails have never looked better. Not sure if it is the hormones or prenatal vitamins but there are BEAU-TI-FUL.
- My leg hair is growing like the weather forecast for tomorrow is below freezing.
- Still tired most days and trying to accept it as my new normal and get over it. Jerod can vouch that TRY would be the key word here.
- Crying, or just a little more sensitive. I saw a commercial to raise money for a girl in a wheelchair while on my break the other night and had to avert my eyes before I started crying into my chili.
- Crazy dreams....crazy, vivid dreams. I woke up after a nightmare two nights ago that was so real I woke Jerod up and had him go make sure there wasn't an intruder in our living room. Totally rational of me.
Cravings: I was a craving person before pregnancy, I would discover some foods sounded soooo good and just had to have them. My recent kicks have been sour chewy candy, grilled paninis, bean burritos from Taco Bell(WHY ARE THEY SO GOOD?!), watermelon, peaches, any really juicy fruit. But really, I'll eat anything.
Aversions: Still not interested in my daily cup of coffee, other than that I'm up for most anything as long as it doesn't smell strongly. But if I catch wind of a weird smell while eating its all over. Like whoever microwaved seafood into the break room is going to get it!
Sleep: Sleep has slowly been returning. This past week I was super tired again and went to bed at 8pm one night and napped here and there. I would say I get good sleep 5 days out of 7 which I am VERY grateful for.
Workouts: *sheepishly sinks under the table* I've gotten in a few tennis games, volleyball games, walks, one run and one bike ride. Oh, and I did some squats last night.
Miss Anything?: Wine, a nice glass of red wine would go really well with a dinner date.
Baby Items Purchased: We ordered some free stuff during August when it was National Breastfeeding month. Other than that, we haven't bought any baby stuff.
Maternity Clothes: None, still rocking my same clothes. I'm sure they are just around the corner though. My stomach appears to be all too excited about fullfilling its poochy destiny.
Looking Forward To: Looking pregnant and not like I haven't pooped in a week. Finding out the gender at 20 weeks. Feeling Baby Bear move. In true crazy pregnant woman fashion I had a breakdown(see Symptoms) this week about not looking pregnant and still not being able to feel the baby move. Our trip to Europe in October!
Best Pregnancy Moment This Week: The best moments have been hearing the heart beat, sharing the news with everyone, seeing BB on the ultrasound, and Jerod's excitement and incredible support.
There you have it. All the fruit comparisons and pregnancy details you've been missing for the past 15 weeks. ;)
In all seriousness though, we are super excited and I have been incredibly blessed with an easy pregnancy. I have been able to go about my daily activities and work without any major problems. I don't take this pregnancy for granted or these symptoms lightly. God has blessed me with health and a husband who updates ME on what our baby is doing this week. I do believe in honesty though and find it discouraging/annoying to go to people's blogs and only find flowers and rainbows for how it feels to be pregnant. Lets be real here people.
