Like finding a cute pair of leggings for these cowgirl boots Cassie bought her.
Baby Growth: From here on out she is gaining a pound a week. Thats insane. I did some difficult number crunching and the equivalent to her weight gain would be if at my pre-pregnancy weight I gained 30 pounds a week! It's amazing at that rate SHE doesn't get any stretch marks. Other fun facts for the past 5 weeks include the fact that she now keeps her eyes open when awake and closes them when she sleeps. I'm grateful since the beginning of December she has been head down with her legs and arms punching the right side of my stomach. HEY! At least its not my ribs. She starts out her last month of growth at around 6 pounds and 18 inches long. A fun fact about our daughter- she gets the hiccups EVERY day. I guess she takes after her mom because I get the hiccups almost every day as well.
Weight Gained: +39 lbs. The water weight has begun. Actually, right after the 30 week post I gained 6 pounds in 6 days which was all water weight. How do I know? My face blew up like a ballon and with it I experienced blurry vision. I've been monitoring my ankles, salt intake and blood pressure ever since. The good news? I passed all the preeclampsia tests with flying colors. The summary? This fat face is just part of my pregnancy journey.
Symptoms: I wanted to praise God for the symptoms I am no longer experiencing! Because, thankfully, some of them have disappeared.
1. THE HEARTBURN IS GONE!!!! After 2 months of misery I found my answer. Prevacid. I wish I would have gone on in back in November but, hey, I'll be able to take in the last month with a fat face and NO bile mouth.
2. The rabbit pellets are over. Oddly enough, the answer was an iron supplement. I take Floradix which is a vegetarian, liquid supplement and ever since I've been free and easy. :)
3. Leg cramps have moved on to some other poor preggo. Maybe its the massive amount of water I drink, the increased magnesium or just a new trimester but I don't mind the lack of leg seizures.
4. Its not gone but I've started to go to physical therapy for my upper back pain and finally feel like I've found something that is working. I started out pregnancy as the world's least flexible person so the whole realxin hormone and bone shifting really didn't help. I'm trying to stay positive though so when the therapist said she felt like she was working with the tight muscles of a body builder and not the loosey goosey ones of a pregnant woman I said, "I'll take that as a compliment." :)
Cravings: Pineapple, mango, fruit. Water. With the whole water weight my fluid shifts to my tissues and I think thats why my thirst level has quadrupled. Dark chocolate, I made a giant bag of dark chocolate, unsalted almonds and dried cherries. I eat out of it all day long.
Aversions: Mmmm, nothing is coming to mind.
Sleep: Its a struggle. In general lately I'm just uncomfortable so its hard to find a comfy little spot to fall asleep.
Workouts: Prenatal yoga! It was wonderful, a titch out there for my taste but the overall stretching and strength building of it was so needed. Thats about it for exercise.
Miss Anything?: Eh, nothing new. I'm excited for a salami sandwich, a glass of wine and cracking my back sometime in March.
Baby Items Purchased: This house is exploding with baby stuff! Its so exciting! We've been blessed with baby showers in January and February so we have be overwhelmed at the generosity of our friends and family. One more shower to come tomorrow and then I will reveal the cute, serene nursery we have slowly put together. You're gonna wanna come and rock little Bearina to sleep in the plush glider next to the sunny window. Just you wait!
Maternity Clothes: Still rockin em, still hate real maternity pants. You might notice I am wearing the same two pairs of jeans. And I will continue to do so for the next month.
Looking Forward To: The shower with Jerod's family and friends tomorrow. Finishing the nursery. Getting the house ready and checking things off the "to do" list. Things like packing our bags, washing baby clothes and putting the car seat in the car. AND MEETING OUR DAUGHTER! She's almost here! I just want to see her little face and see what she looks like.
Best Pregnancy Moment This Month: The showers for sure have made us feel incredibly loved. I can't wait for our daughter to grow up around all you amazing, loving and supportive people. People have been so generous and creative! I can't wait to show all the pictures from the showers. One, true to the group of girls, was a "happy hour baby shower". :)
I LOVE reading all the ways other bloggers and moms prepared for labor, a baby and this new life. So, if I can get my blogging act together I wanna squeeze in a little post or two with our birth plans, nursery essentials, books we've read and ways we've prepared. I also made an amazing labor playlist and I think it should be shared with the world. Then, after this amazing little girl changes our lives we'll share what worked and what got thrown out the window at 3am.
See you at 40 weeks!
