Remember the host Paige and how horribly awkward she was?
Remember how the show was way better when they got new carpenters(Ty and Andrew)?
Remember how they would flip rooms in very little time and a puny budget?
Well, a couple weekends ago I was on that show. Minus Paige, TLC, the carpenters and someone else's money.
Remember the blog post that I declared my "house work weekend"?
Ok, I'll stop starting every sentence with remember.
Anyway, Jerod left to go out of town for a whole weekend with his small group men and after I finished throwing a pity party for myself that I didn't have any fishing plans at a cabin-I devised a plot. I was going to completely redo one of the upstairs rooms into a computer room....as a surprise.
This is what I was working with-
Oh wait, let me zoom that it for ya
Oh, thanks for the flogging molly sticker teenage girl.
Hold on, look over here...
And for the grand finale, I present to you "The black light paint closet that will never look cool because there are no closet doors" closet.
Enter fake garage sales that I just HAD to pull cash out for. And, Jerod and I are fascinated with each other's lives, we like to know what the other person is doing all day long.
Enter fake to do list.
First, I mudded and sanded the walls. This process gave me turquoise boogers for the rest of the weekend.
"Oh nope, I can see it great from out here"
After I returned from that little unsucessful excursion I started painting.
For the next 6 hours.
Megan D. pitched in her painting skills as well.
And by battle we mean annihilate.

Please observe Dustin with his back pressed against the desk literally squatting it up the stairs.

No, for real, that table did come from a garage sale.
Recognize those yarn balls? They are some of the survivors form our wedding that I am bound and determined to use around our house. They got the once over with new spray paint to coordinate.
Rubbermaid bin- Target
The room needed a comfy oversized chair that he could sit in and watch movies on his computer.
I made the most frantic trip to IKEA.....on a Sunday.
WORST. IDEA. EVER.
Bookcase- old purchase from Target

Big, amazing chair- IKEA

A legitimate request.
From the big smile on his face and the word "wow" repeated about 37 times I think he liked it.
Then I asked for a back rub.
Another legitimate request.
