Well, that changed when we went to check in and found out that every night at 6:30pm all gates to the park were locked so no one could get in....or out! Kinda creepy so we opted to stay in my parents cabin and take some day excursions to explore the island and eat great food.
*It looks like the clouds are raining into Jerod's cup*
One of our favorite places to spend the day was the North Shore. There are tons of beaches to park at and watch some surfing while we baked our skin.
The truth is I am a good swimmer from growing up by the beach and swimming through high school but I have a very healthy fear of the ocean. I went out boogie boarding in big waves once almost drowned. I should probably include the small fact that a hurricane was rolling in and I decided to go out against the "no swim" advisory.
On the upside my friend and I decided to celebrate my victory over death with fried chicken.
Oh to be young and fearless again.
Jerod = 100% ruffled bird
Sounds like fun!
Check out those calves!
The views are amazing! One the left side of this picture you can see Diamond Head.
Just documenting memories here!
My dad spent his summers in high school/college working at a boys camp and teaching them how to sail. He hasn't lost his skills because he was able to rent a boat from the Marine Base in Kaneohe Bay and take us out for a few hours.
Well I will tell you why, they have a prime spot in Waikiki for people watching. The seating is outdoors, right on the main strip and Waikiki attracts people from all over the world. And we love their mongolian beef.
AND if you check in on foursquare you get a free appetizer!
They only use organic, fresh and natural ingredients in all of their smoothies, bowls and juices.
This is the "Dr. P.A.G.O." A juice of pineapple, apple, ginger and orange.
It was so fun to have our whole family together on a beautiful island and you guessed it, all of the family time activities pictures will be coming up in the next post!
Until then I would like to know if anyone has found an amazing juice bar here in MN that rivals Lanakai Juice?
