I truly love this about being a woman and having all my over sharing friends. You can get all of us in a room and within a few moments we will have dived into just what our mothers said to shape us into who we are today or how that particular event at our weddings made us feel or, in the case of the car ride up, just how much one of us loves Oprah. :)
I know there are books mocking this ability to talk or Hallmark cards that make jokes about it but when you sit back and think about it, its a beautiful thing.
One weekend in March it was 8 women, from 8 different backgrounds, 8 different types of husbands, 8 different jobs, 8 different body types(oh yes we discussed it) and 8 different seasons of life all gathered around a fire just sharing our hearts.
Our little group of 5 aquished into Kate's subaru and made the 1.5 hour drive up.
We also may have been so excited when we arrived that the cabin key was flung into the snow bank. A few minutes later it was retrieved and we ventured into our home away from home...on a lake!
Just look at that fresh mozerella!
I have yet to see Melissa rock that deep red she was born to wear.
Clearly these were not posed at all.
I would also celebrate how creative God is by bringing together such a diverse group of ladies.
The truth is, I would really just love to keep TALKING about the great weekend it was but I'll wait till I see one of these ladies next to reminisce.
Stay tuned for many more mini retreats with these ladies as we navigate life and share what we would do for $500 dollars. ;)
